Notes and Reminders
Remember to check out the hub blog regularly for updates on what is happening in the hub and links to extend learning at home. https://totara2018.weebly.com/
Reading at home this week
This week we are focusing on assessments. Children will have the option of taking a browsing book from the class box, reading online using links from the blog, or they may choose to read a book they already have at home. This would be a great week to opo along to one of our great public libraries and find some new material.
Watch Your Waste Trip
Our trip to the Metro Place green waste processing plant is on this Wednesday, 6th of June. A notice was sent home last week. It is essential that all children and adults on the trip are wearing closed in shoes and have a warm & waterproof jacket. If the trip needs to be cancelled due to bad weather conditions we will put a post on the blog as soon as we know. Parent helpers should have received an email giving more details for the day.
For the remainder of the term we will have a news based oral language focus on a Friday. A note will be sent home when it is your child’s turn to share current news item with their homebase class. We are aiming to have an environmental focus for news to tie in with our inquiry.
On Tuesday 26 June our hub will hold our annual bake sale. The children will all have their own stand to sell baked goods that they have made at home. Please start to discuss with your child the food that would be popular/suitable/practical to sell. Money raised will go towards purchasing a worm farm for school.
